Venanzio Straulino responds to Robert Frankle’s brief “Where is the Venice in the Biennale?”

“Venice continues inexorably to be in San Marco, with a pigeon and food. Working at the current top hotel in Venice (tripadvisor), I could see that more than half of the guests had in no way come for the Biennale preview. They were in Venice for Venice (Rialto, San Marco, pigeons, selfies, pizza, gondolas) and they paid exorbitant sums without even realising that the amounts were related to the presence of the Biennale, which means that the prices rise.”
