Amy McDonnell responds to Akerman Daly’s brief “Write a proposal for a new kind of pavilion in 56 words”

The Imagined Pavilion is an inflatable structure that morphs and moulds in relation to political representation. A series of bubbles amass, changing size and location dependent on the allegiances of self-commissioned artists – those nationless, crossing borders, fleeing identity. When the pavilion deflates, occupants retreat to make-shift shelters in the laguna scavenged from exhibition materials.
